The Heart Behind Sing To Thrive

JULIA'S STORY
I spent more than 35 years as a professional singer, but it was my own healing journey — through anxiety, recurring throat issues and a deep struggle to speak up and fully use my voice — that showed me the voice is about so much more than singing well.
That discovery changed everything. In 2006, I founded VoiceJam — now Sing to Thrive — bringing together singing, conscious language, positive neuroplasticity, somatic practices, harmony and sound. Since then, I’ve helped thousands of people free their voices, rediscover their joy and experience the transformative power of singing.

JULIA'S STORY
In 2000, after leaving a high-stress corporate career, I followed my true calling as a professional singer. Despite my passion, I faced recurring throat issues, anxiety, and health challenges until a powerful healing experience revealed how deeply our voice reflects our beliefs and emotional blocks.
That discovery changed everything. I realised that freeing the voice unlocks success, confidence, and authentic happiness. In 2006, I founded VoiceJam—now Sing to Thrive—to help others experience the same transformation. Since then, I’ve guided thousands to reclaim their voice, restore joy, and create lives they love through the healing power of music, singing & sound.

MADDY'S STORY
Growing up, I learned that staying quiet and putting others first came from not feeling worthy. Over time, those patterns dimmed my confidence and voice. Through inner healing and singing, I released perfectionism, found my truth, and began leading groups with joy and authenticity.
Stepping into leadership at sixteen through the Sing to Thrive community taught me that singing isn’t just about technique — it’s about connection, confidence, and freedom. Today, running my weekly singing circles is the highlight of my week, a space where people from all walks of life come together to grow, heal, and transform through harmony.

"The teacher training here in the hub has cracked me open in ways I didn’t expect. It’s stirred things, triggered old shadows, but also awakened something deep. Last week, I recorded myself for the first time—my singing voice—and when I played it back, I smiled. It’s stronger. Braver. I’m reaching higher notes, not just musically, but emotionally and spiritually.Singing every day has been like a balm. It’s healing my heart, breath by breath, note by note. There’s something ancient being reawakened in me. Something sacred."
